artspeak 2009
Welcome to registration for the artspeak 2009 conference on 19 & 20 November and the RADF Forum on 18 November, presented by Arts Queensland and hosted by the Scenic Rim Regional Council.
Registration for the RADF Forum on Wednesday 18 November is open to RADF Liaison Officers, RADF Committee Members, Councillors and other Council staff involved in the management of RADF.
Registration for artspeak 2009 on Thursday 19 and Friday 20 November is open to everyone, and will include keynote speakers, workshops, presentations, panel discussions, examples of arts and cultural projects and a program of artistic work exploring regional arts and culture.
The conference themes are:
- Encouraging community participation and engagement through arts and culture.
- Building strong and diverse communities using the arts to address social, political, economic, cultural and environmental
issues. - Supporting vibrant regional arts and culture through creative enterprise, leadership in policy, planning, program delivery and
arts and cultural practice. - Activating creative spaces through public art, contemporary collections, museums, libraries, festivals, tourism, places and
heritage.
Widely recognised for its stunning natural wonders and traditional appeal to artists, the Scenic Rim region has a thriving arts and cultural community and the talents of local artists will be showcased throughout the conference.
The Scenic Rim Regional Council will host a Welcome Event on Wednesday 18 November at the beautiful O’Reilly’s Winery in the Canungra Valley. The evening will feature ethereal performance, fire, dance and storytelling and an opportunity to sample local wine and regional produce against the dramatic backdrop of the spectacular scenery.
